College Credit

Get involved. Earn credit. Change lives.

Youthlinc is excited to announce a new partnership with Southern Utah University (SUU) Office of Community & Workforce Development, offering college credit to all participants in the Youthlinc Service Year. This collaboration turns your service, leadership, and cultural learning into tangible academic achievement.

“Youthlinc is doing transformational work in service, leadership, and community engagement. Partnering with Youthlinc allows SUU to recognize and reward that impact with academic credit.” Melinda Pfundstein, Executive Director of Community & Workforce Development at SUU.

Through this partnership, participants can earn official SUU credit that recognizes the skills, knowledge, and real-world impact gained during their Service Year. Whether you plan to attend SUU, transfer credits to another school, or simply want academic recognition on your résumé, this opportunity helps your service go even further.

Your commitment to service now comes with even more benefits—empowering you to make a difference while getting ahead academically.

How it works:

1: Register with SUU

All Youthlinc Service Year participants will have the opportunity to register for college credit beginning in Nov. This will take place during team meetings. The deadline to opt in is Jan. 10th.

2: Commit to the Requirements

By opting in, participants commit to completing the accredited portion of the program, which includes:

  • 40 hours of local service between Jan. 15 and June 1

  • Attending all monthly team meetings

  • Completing all required Impact Modules

3: Complete the Program

This is a pass/fail program. All requirements must be successfully met by June 1 to receive credit.

4: Earn Your College Credit

At the end of the Service Year, participants will work with Southern Utah University (SUU) to have their coursework articulated as SUU 2120: Service Learning and added to an official SUU transcript. Credits earned may also be transferable to other colleges and universities, depending on their policies.
